Wild Solace

I photograph the quiet places. Empty fields, dusted ridgelines, hidden rivers; places people pass through without stopping, then stitch into the prints by hand. The embroidery is slow and intentional, sometimes a pattern, sometimes an image. Thread laid into the image one mark at a time, a way of reaching back into a place and making it physical again. Up close, the stitches catch the light. From across a room, they read as weather, or memory, or something half remembered. Wild Solace is the body of work and the name I make under, and has grown into a small, deliberate practice. Each handmade piece exists once. None are repeated.
